Last week, a blockbuster re-issue hit stores, and for my first review on this young site, I had to dive into this historical fiction novel and give my thoughts on it. Please, continue to the review beyond the jump!

Welcome to Trade Waiting!

I love comics. I’ve been a comic fan for years. I even used to do this same thing way back when, and I’ve wanted to get back into it for a while. I wasn’t sure how to get back into it but it was always in the back of my mind. But then, Inspiration struck!

I was listening to a podcast, DC Comics Squadcast, on the Squadcast Media Network (great guys, if you’re reading this and haven’t listened to them, check them out!) and another listener, who was a librarian, was asking for trade paperback and graphic novel recommendations to add to their library.

Reviews are common in comics journalism. In fact, I know them well. However, I don’t see a lot of sites dedicated just to collected trade paperbacks and graphic novels.

Trades have become my preferred form of reading comics in the past few years, because the complete story is there waiting to be unwrapped. In the best cases it’s even a lot easier to digest a story when they are written for the collected format. And that’s what you’ll find here.

Here you’ll find reviews about new books as they come out as well as well as hidden gems or just, well, books I like.

Reviews will start going up soon, but in the meantime feel free to follow the site on Twitter for updates as they’re posted. I hope you enjoy your time here at Trade Waiting!
